FAIRE FEES
What Faire Actually Takes in 2026
Faire takes 25% of a new customer’s first order plus a one-time $10 fee, 15% of every reorder, and 0% on orders from retailers you bring through Faire Direct. That’s the commission structure — but it’s not the whole cost picture. Here is every fee as Faire publishes it, plus what we’ve learned managing Faire accounts full-time.
What commission does Faire charge?

Two details brands miss. The 24-hour rule: an order only counts as a reorder if it’s placed at least 24 hours after the first one — a second order the same afternoon is charged at the 25% new-customer rate too. And rates aren’t universal: commission varies by region, and non-North-American brands are on a different schedule, so check your own backend rather than assuming.
What is Faire Direct, and why is it 0%?
Faire Direct is your brand’s personal link and website widget that brings retailers onto Faire. Any retailer whose first order comes through your link is commission-free for you — permanently, on every order they ever place. Faire funds the incentive for the retailer, not you: a new retailer clicking your Faire Direct link gets 50% off their first order (up to $150) and free shipping with your brand for a year, paid by Faire. The offer expires 7 days after sign-up if they don’t order.
The gap between 25/15% and 0% is the biggest lever on your effective Faire cost. It’s why every retailer we win through outreach for our clients is onboarded through Faire Direct — those accounts become the highest-margin part of the channel.
How much do Faire ads (Promoted Listings) cost?
Promoted Listings is pay-per-click: you set a monthly budget, Faire picks the audience, and you’re charged only when a retailer clicks. There’s no fixed cost per click — Faire sets the bid based on predicted conversion. From our managed accounts: a workable starting budget is around $200/month, scaled when utilization runs consistently above 70–75%. Targeting is limited — you cannot aim spend at a geography, retailer type, or named account. And since mid-2026 ads no longer carry a “promoted” label; they appear as “suggested” products. Ads can’t fix a weak profile: if listings aren’t converting, more spend buys clicks that don’t order. SEO and fulfillment quality come first.
What do Faire Market promotions cost?
During Faire Market, Faire matches your promotion with up to 5 percentage points of additional discount, funded by Faire. Set 15% and the retailer sees 20%; even a 5% promo earns the match and a spot in the Market directory. The caution: discounts train behavior. Brands that run heavy promotions teach their retailer base to wait for the next one — we’ve rebuilt accounts where more than three-quarters of first orders were discounted, and the fix is structural, not another promo.
Does the Faire Insider program cost anything?
Opting into the Insider Partnership is free. Insiders are Faire’s 100,000+ highest-volume buyers, and the program changes who pays their shipping: on marketplace orders Faire pays for Insider free shipping (when estimated shipping is under roughly 10–13% of order value for opted-in brands); on Faire Direct orders the brand pays. Brands that don’t opt in only get coverage below roughly 6% of order value — so opting in meaningfully expands how often Insiders see free shipping on your listings.
So what does Faire actually cost, all-in?
The real number is a blended effective rate that depends on your order mix. A marketplace-heavy brand — most volume at 15% reorders with a stream of 25% first orders — usually lands in the high teens. A Direct-heavy brand — existing wholesale relationships and outreach-won accounts at 0%, marketplace discovery on top — can fall under 10%. That’s the honest answer to “is Faire worth the fees”: at a high-teens effective rate with no active management, it’s expensive customer acquisition. At a sub-10% blended rate with compounding reorders, it’s some of the cheapest wholesale distribution available. The fee structure rewards brands who treat Faire as a channel to operate, not a listing to set and forget.
